Dying to Tell You: What 1000's of Researched Near Death Experiencer's Who've "Seen the Light" Want you to Know about LIVING
Learn what really matters in life from those who've died and lived to tell about it
I think if we’re honest, many of us leave a lot on the table of our lives… we worry about things that won’t matter in a few days, hours, months or years.
We take what’s right in front of us for granted.
We try to control others and circumstances with all our might. #exhaustingmuch
We waste time on priorities that aren’t ours.
There’s a laundry list of things we do to navigate this life that leave us in regret and barely living while we’re here.
This article has been a long time coming for me.
I like facts, but these days that’s hard to come by.
I did not want to write or talk about something I really had no proof of, especially when it smacks in the face of what so many believe about this life.
I’ve always known there was “the other side,” but honestly I was often just paying lip service to what I had been taught blindly from others, and I dare not talk about it in “normal” circles.
I’ve always been fascinated by the “unseen” (even though plenty of “unseen” things are physically seen all the time), and the things that just seemed unknowable about the nature of life, death, and what might lie beyond.
But where was the proof, so I could stop sounding like a complete wackadoo when I talked about loved one’s still being with us, or angels, or ancestors, or spirit guides, or [insert “unseen” stuff here]?
Got a lot of heavy Scorpio placements in my chart, so the intrigue has always been natural.
But how would you know what’s on the other side if you hadn’t experienced it for yourself?
What’s this crap about there being a “heaven?”
What does happen when we die?
And how the hell do you know? Who died and made you all knowledgeable and such?
Did you even die yet?
These are just questions I imagine people think to themselves when someone else is acting like they know the truth...
Now, I’m not trying to make light of death, cause yea… sometimes it’s a really painful, emotional, earth shattering experience, and then on the other hand I’m totally trying to make light of death because it’s often been a really painful, emotional, earth shattering experience.
Well the wait is over for the war against ourselves on this topic…
Here’s what 1000’s upon 1000’s of scientifically validated & reviewed (and whatever other non-spicy technical jargon you need to feel something is real) research from true blue Near Death Experiencers (NDE’ers) have come back to tell us and teach us.
Before we dive into the 10 most common themes that NDE’ers want us to know about this life, I want to give some of the most common elements that have been reported about the experience of “the other side,” by real people despite their culture, religion, personal beliefs, or where they lived in the world.
I would like to preface that a small few have reported experiencing negative experiences when having a NDE, but we’ll have to save that for another time.
I want to talk about the majority.
And as always… Do your own research and take your OWN word for it. I’ll leave some people to check out at the end of this article should this peak your interest.
10 things NDE’ers report:
Out-of-Body Experiences (OBE) - they report feeling as if they have left their physical body and can observe themselves and their surroundings from a different vantage point, often from above, sometimes describing details of their environment or medical procedures being performed on them.
Tunnel Experience - they report the sensation of moving through a tunnel or a passageway. This tunnel often leads toward a bright, sometimes blinding light.
Encountering Beings of Light - many people describe moving through this tunnel or a dark space, toward a bright, often warm and loving light. This light is sometimes described as a being of light (angel, spiritual or religious figure or deceased loved ones) radiating unconditional love and acceptance.
Life Review - Many people describe experiencing a life review, where they relive major and minor events and often feel the emotions of others affected by their actions.
Feelings of Peace and Bliss - A sense of overwhelming peace, joy and bliss is commonly reported. This feeling is often described as being more intense than any emotions experienced in their ordinary life.
Meeting Deceased Loved Ones - Encounters with deceased family members, friends, pets or even unknown entities are frequently described. These “beings'' often convey messages of reassurance and love. Professional Mediums who have indisputable proof and validation from those they receive messages for, prove this one again and again without fail.
Reluctance to Return - this is a big one. Many people don’t want to come back to their physical body and this rock called Earth. They feel content and at peace in the NDE state. However, they often return because they are told it is not their time or they have unfinished business or a mission to complete.
Communications Beyond Words - People often describe communication as telepathic with thoughts and feelings exchanged instantaneously and without the need for spoken words
Lasting Impact - After an NDE, people often report significant changes in their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors including a decreased fear of death, increased compassion and empathy, a greater sense of spiritual connection, and often a reevaluation of priorities and values
Entering another Realm & Altered Sense of Time and Space - Some describe entering a realm of incredible beauty, often depicted as a garden, a city of light, or otherworldly landscape, and many report a sense of timelessness or the feeling that they are in a realm where time doesn’t exist.
The consistency of the experiences of these people from all walks of life is remarkable.
So now that they’ve been to the “other side,” what do they often come back “dying to tell us?”
Note that the research shows that even chronically angry or mean people often return with huge transformations and similar messages for us. Score!
Here are some of the common messages and regrets NDE experiencers want to share with us:
Value Relationships Over Material Success - Many NDE’ers express regret over prioritizing work, money, or material success over their relationships with family and friends. They often emphasize that love and connections with others are what truly matter in life.
Be True to Yourself - A common theme is the regret of not living authentically. Many NDE’ers encourage others to follow their true passions, dreams, and desires rather than conforming to societal expectations or living for the approval of others.
Practice Kindness and Compassion - They frequently report that acts of kindness and compassion are highly significant. They often regret not being more kind and compassionate in their lives and stress the importance of treating others with love and respect.
Don't Take Life for Granted - Many express regret over not appreciating life more fully while they had the chance. They often advocate for living in the present moment, appreciating the small things, and recognizing the value of life itself.
Forgive and Let Go of Grudges - A significant number of people talk about the importance of forgiveness. They regret holding onto anger or grudges and emphasize that forgiveness can lead to emotional freedom and peace.
Live Without Fear - Fear of failure, judgment, or the unknown is a common regret. Many NDE’ers encourage others to take risks, pursue their goals, and not let fear hold them back from living a full life.
Contribute to the Greater Good - Many NDE’ers feel regret for not contributing more positively to the world. They often come back with a strong sense of purpose, advocating for others to find ways to make a positive impact in their communities and the world.
Express Love and Gratitude - Expressing love and gratitude is a recurring theme. Experiencers often regret not expressing their love and appreciation enough to the people in their lives and emphasize the importance of doing so.
Seek Personal and Spiritual Growth - There is often a regret about not seeking personal or spiritual growth. Many NDE’ers advocate for self-reflection, personal development, and spiritual exploration as integral parts of a fulfilling life.
Live with Integrity - Many express regret over not living in alignment with their values. They stress the importance of integrity and living in a way that is consistent with one's principles and beliefs.
It feels like some NDE’ers have been whispering in my ear about how to live life for a very long time, although I know it was really my unseen “team,” which I lovingly named my “God Posse” over 15 years ago, who have been guiding me on my path. [Note: I am not religious and use God as an interchangeable term with many other words used to describe something ineffable.]
And after checking my birth chart a few years back and becoming an astrology nerd, I realized I signed up for the lessons and the blessings of living a life like this. Or at least giving it the old college try...
These themes are what I speak about unendingly in my work (and no, I didn’t skew the research to line up with what I teach, this is real research I’m sharing) and I am doing my best to walk my talk, HOWEVER, these things are often NEVER as easy TO LIVE as they seem, so in my follow up article to this one, we’ll talk about the most common insights that NDE’ers want to share with us about relationships, karma & what they want us to know about purpose in this lifetime.
